With your help, lives are changed. Only with the support of private philanthropy is KU able to sustain its 350 programs in the arts, sciences, humanities and professional schools — making it possible for students to discover their passions and live their dreams.

    2

Students rely on you. KU Endowment funds hundreds of scholarships and fellowships at KU. In fiscal year 2014, about 6,500 students received $28.3 million in scholarships, and private donations established 91 new scholarships and fellowships and 20 new student award funds.

    3

You make possible critical discoveries. KU has been ranked globally among research institutions for the rate of new patents issued, and 22 companies have been created from KU research and discoveries. Fellowships and awards enable the university to recruit and support top researchers.

    4

Patients receive better care because of you. Your generosity provides new state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, new programs, comfort items for patients and families, and educational resources at The University of Kansas Hospital.

    5

You sustain exceptional education. KU is able to reward and retain outstanding faculty through professorships, as well as Chancellors Club awards for teaching and research. Last year, private gifts enabled KU Endowment to provide $32.6 million in direct support to KU faculty.

    6

Our community benefits from your generosity. Each year, about 4,100 KU undergraduates and 2,250 master/doctoral graduates replenish the state’s economy as new professionals and emerging leaders. Many would have been unable to graduate without private support.

    7

KU depends on you. State funding covers less than 20 percent of KU’s total operating expenses, making private gifts essential to nearly all of the university’s activities. Only with your help can KU Endowment fulfill its mission to build a greater University of Kansas.

    8

With your donation, students see the world. Each year, 25 percent of KU students study abroad through 130 programs in 75 countries. More than 150 of these traveling Jayhawks receive scholarships and awards through private support to help with the cost of travel and tuition.

    9

You help build KU to last. Private giving through KU Endowment has funded about 2/3 of campus buildings and 85 percent of the land available for campus expansion. Donor support also enables the university to preserve its renowned campus beauty and maintain its infrastructure.

    10

Your gift will be felt for generations. When you contribute to an endowed fund, your support will benefit KU now and well into the future. One hundred years from now, your legacy of generosity will live on through the people and programs your gift supports.
